Fiserv Principal Solutions Architect in Alpharetta, Georgia
The Principal Solutions Architect partners with internal product groups and engineering teams to develop technical designs for top priority projects, while advocating adherence to enterprise standards through collaboration with multiple Architecture and Engineering teams. This position requires a high degree of collaboration with Development, Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to provide the right level of agility within a defined delivery process. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong leadership skills, will be forward thinking, will be self-motivated, and will be able to work effectively in a diverse, highly talented team, continuously striving for excellence.
What does a great Principal Solutions Architect do?
Collaborate with business units on long range infrastructure & technology strategy by molding and maximizing existing technology investment and researching new technology.
Align business unit and professional services solution architecture with Fiserv’s IaaS/PaaS strategy by collaborating with the architecture community and private cloud stakeholders.
Work closely with development teams to solve complex solution challenges, drive code modernization, governance, and cloud transformation efforts.
Collaborate with Technical Leadership, Product Groups, and Engineers to develop technical specifications for top priority projects.
Provide the leadership and expertise to manage and run large projects.
Advocate technical architecture and build consensus for the adoption of new technologies across multiple functional teams.
Ensure designs adhere to Fiserv standards, fulfill the business need and requirements of the project; evangelize and champion designs during review processes with the architecture community.

Basic qualifications for consideration:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field OR a high school diploma with equivalent work experience.
10+ years of relevant work experience.
Ability to travel up to 20%
Basic qualifications for consideration:
Experience interacting with customers and appropriate representatives to analyze, validate, specify, verify, document and manage solution requirements.
Experience with .NET/Java development/framework, public/private cloud environments (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), and Automation/Continuous Integration (Salt, Fabric, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, etc.)
Experience in SDLC including associated deployment methodologies, QA processes, and performance tuning efforts.
Previous Infrastructure/System Engineering experience in heterogeneous environments.
Expert level technical skill in one or more technology disciplines (Windows, Linux, Storage, Networking, or Security).
Recent experience leading the technical design of high transaction volume distributed systems or other complex projects.
Recent experience working in a strong-matrix organization with project teams and multiple lines of reporting and accountability.
10+ years of relevant work experience delivering enterprise customer facing solutions.
6+ years of relevant work experience designing and building enterprise class distributed systems.
6+ years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry or other highly regulated industries.
6+ years of indirect or direct technical leadership.
Experience effectively managing multiple technology projects simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Ability to work efficiently and productively without direction or guidance.
Capable of exercising extreme discretion and independent judgment.
Ability to handle extremely confidential information in a professional manner.

Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
Architect level certifications for one or more technical disciplines (Windows, Linux, Storage, Networking, or Security).
Experience with TOGAF or other architecture frameworks.
