The position works closely with department colleagues, business stakeholders, and clients to define and document complex business challenges, then to select and manage the appropriate research and analysis methods to provide insights on the underlying business issues.


  • Planning and conducting statistical analysis for survey research, data mining, and market experiments

  • Play a vital role in all other activities of the Market Research Team, including planning, executing, and reviewing market research:

o Working with internal business partners and clients to define and execute research and analysis

o Working to identify, prioritize, design, execute and communicate insights from ad-hoc and regular tracking studies

o Assisting in the design of research questionnaires, databases, and market experiments

o Reviewing the analyses and reports of others—ensuring accuracy, logical consistency and value-add


  • Significant primary market research experience (as vendor or client)

  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and deliver insights that affect business results

  • Ability to quickly understand and use a variety of data and analytic techniques to uncover a cohesive “story” that will help decision-makers take action; ability to summarize and “bottom line” research results in crisp executive summaries and recommendations

  • Ability to understand business issues and translate them into metrics, research designs, and analysis plans

  • Ability to collaborate closely with other functions, including other analysts, consumer analytics, product marketing, global market strategy, and operations

  • Detail orientation and an analytical mind-set

  • Solid track record in research project management, including experience with tracking studies

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity simultaneously

  • Strong written, presentation and oral communication skills


  • A minimum of 7 years in a market research analytic role

  • Expertise with statistical tools: R/SPSS/JMP/Python, and working familiarity with both Bayesian and ‘frequentist’ approaches to statistical analysis

  • Working knowledge of SQL

  • Advanced degree in an analytic or social scientific research discipline (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, social psychology, experimental psychology)

  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation skills

  • Strong analytic skills with experience in statistical modeling and analysis—including probabilistic, multivariate, and choice models

  • Expertise with Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • Preference given to candidates interested and well experienced in business to business research and in financial services research
