What does a great Product Manager – Auto Originations do?

Your Product Manager position is the core role in Product Management responsible for ensuring delivery of product roadmap items. You will be the Product Manager for Auto Originations providing leadership to delivery teams in handling our Auto Originations portfolio including LOS, Mobile Lending Manager, Account Connect for Auto Originations, and Pricing Program Advantage. Your role will be responsible for ensuring that what is delivered meets expectations and provides excellent value to both Fiserv Lending Solutions and our clients. As a core member of the Product Management team, you will serve as a conduit between the voice of the client and the delivery teams, by helping to: define business requirements in the voice of the market or client; ensure that requirements are built in a prioritized, efficient and high-quality manner; and ensure that client expectations are met while also leading to the overall growth strategy for the product portfolio.

More broadly, as the Product Manager you will seek to understand market problems, build business cases for solutions that take on those problems, and work with the marketing teams to identify the value those solutions bring to our clients. As the Product Manager for Originations you will need to understand the dealer finance market, our products that serve that market, and be able to evangelize for solutions that meet the needs of the market. This role also requires you to advocate on behalf of the clients and operations teams that use the products every single day to represent the voice of the user when describing necessary functions or features.

You should be comfortable working within cross-functional teams, across multiple delivery teams, challenge the status quo, and prioritize deliverables to reach the Fiserv Lending Solutions leadership team’s business goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Seek to understand market problems and find solutions that solve those problems

  • Engage with product partners such as company leaders, clients, prospects and third parties to understand their perspectives on these market problems

  • Participate in client strategy sessions, tradeshows and prospect sales presentations to explain the product strategy and the features and benefits derived from the roadmap

  • Ensure that the product roadmap reflects the right balance between building features that meet known market needs and getting out ahead of the known market needs as well

  • Build business cases to request investments in the product roadmap

  • Participate in the sprint planning with product development and project updates to ensure the development backlog is based on stakeholder feedback and agreed upon changes

  • Analyze and predict risks and issues, and ensure that sufficient mitigation is in place to ensure on-time delivery including cross-team dependencies

  • Work with others on a day-to-day basis to help make decisions on what is in scope and provide input into functional decisions

  • Ensure that key stakeholders are brought in at relevant points throughout the process to understand trade-offs, align on key decisions, and review progress

  • Ensure Product Leadership is aware of key issues and changes, and provide them with the right information and recommendations to resolve issues

  • Review team outputs and sign off on quality of output and deliverables. Provide critical feedback to teams as needed.

  • Travel: 10-15%

Basic qualifications for consideration:

  • Education: BS in Business, Communication, Information Technology or equivalent

  • 5+ years working within the automotive lending or consumer lending industry with a focus on software Development, business analysis or quality

  • Proven understanding of auto finance operations and the auto finance industry

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and be central in the delivery of software within a product management capacity

  • Experience working in an Agile environment and ability to deliver

  • Excellent and proven communication skills (written and verbal).

  • Well-developed negotiation and problem solving skills.

  • Exceptional ability to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to excel in cross-functional team environment.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
