The Technical Production Control, Advisory is responsible for managing the day to day activities of the Production floor tools like RPD, Prisma, Solimar, Insert Servers, etc. The right candidate will ensure the smooth operations of the tools, by performing and overseeing regular maintenance, upgrades and improvements to the tool, thereby eliminating any down time due to the unavailability of any of the Production tools.
Responsibilities include allocation and maintenance of Production tools throughout the Fulfillment Center. This includes troubleshooting of all tools supporting the Production floor such as Print Drivers, Workflow tools like RICOH, Solimar, Scan Tools and devices, printers and other devices used at the floor. Tech Support Manager is also responsible for the RMA and repair process for all devices under warranty. Support Managers are also expected to participate in learning new technologies and career development opportunities as presented in an effort to progress to higher level positions within the organization network.
This role will monitor Production floor users’ feedback and will be responsible:
For identifying opportunities for Improvement
Reducing Manual labor
Identifying opportunities for Automation
Gaining leadership approval on ideas based on ROI
Following Change Control process and Documentation
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provide support to end-users, answering questions and solving technical issues in-person as well as remotely
Ability to install, configure, update and repair computer hardware and software
Ability to move computer equipment and telephones
Ability to train users on essential tasks
Positive and professional customer service, attitude and behavior
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work without direct supervision
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
A four year Degree in Computer Science or 10 years of relevant work experience.
Experience troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving technical issues with thin clients, PCs, scanners, portable handheld terminals, and maintaining Print Drivers and workflow tools
Experience using Database queries like SQL and other Application debugging tools
Experience building Requirements Documents, Use case documents and Solution Design documents
Inventory management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating in person and via phone with peers, managers, and vendors
Ability to manage multiple customer requests simultaneously
Ability to prioritize work based on department and site objectives
Ability to travel up to 25%
Experience with Microsoft applications
Must be available to work off-shift, weekends, and holidays as required, especially during peak periods
Individual will perform tasks with minimal supervision in a deadline work environment
Use good organizational skills to stay in control and maintain even handed approach with people while working with continually changing multi-tasking environment
Physical requirements include walking, standing, sitting, and the use of hands to process work and use keyboard. Successful performance requires good vision abilities including close vision to read documents and computer screens
May on occasion exert or lift up to 25 pounds
Position reports to Director of Quality and Process Improvement
Works with Production Site Management and Production floor associates
This position will not have direct reports
