The purpose of the Project Manager’s job is to provide leadership and support to ensure predictable, consistent, and successful project execution. We are relied upon by our clients and internal business partners to execute flawless, on-time and on-budget programs. The Project Manager will both provide governance and standards, as well as personally execute planning, coordination, reporting and monitoring a broad mix of small and large scale projects for the organization. The Project Manager will represent our team to internal and external business stakeholders and partner with them to ensure a successful start-up and completion of projects. The Project Manager will be relied upon to provide comprehensive yet concise status and progress reporting to ensure stakeholders and executives have transparency into expected project completion and/or risks.

The exposure of this position is significant and reaches across a broad group of senior leaders. As a result it requires experienced communication and relationship skills. The scope of work is exciting and varied including technology and business initiatives. The project manager will have a great deal of autonomy and will be expected to exercise both direct and indirect influencing, while maintaining the full support from the senior leadership team of the organization. Participation and involvement in a variety of initiatives will allow the Project Manager to strengthen their knowledge base while demonstrating continued performance and completion of deliverables.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

  • Ensure predictable, consistent, and successful project delivery.

  • Define project governance, outlining roles, responsibilities, decision rights and clearly defined escalation path. Responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring budgeted projects.

  • Provide a holistic view of the overall project to the organization and all stakeholders including creation of executive-level and project working group reporting that assesses and communicates status, completion and risks for projects.

  • Exhibit proactive behavior by engaging in project planning activities, including but not limited to: Defining the overall scope of the project; Creating and maintaining a consolidated timeline/schedule highlighting the major milestones and associated dates for project activities; Identifying and communicating project dependencies and impacts; Putting mechanisms in place to ensure on-going control of the project (e.g., Kick Off Meeting, Overall Project Management Approach, Status And Progress Reporting, Communication Plan, Risk Management, Issues Management, Change Control, etc.).

  • Ensure success criteria defined upfront to promote alignment and actively manage to expected project outcomes. Facilitate alignment and approach for all related Fiserv business areas. Represent the team as needed in various project meetings and debrief our team and management.

  • Knowledgeable about how the organizations work; knows how to get things done through formal channels and the informal network. Understands the culture of organizations.

  • Assists managers in identifying appropriate resources to accomplish tasks and develops timelines to identify and track project milestones to ensure projects are completed within the established timelines and budget.

  • Facilitates strategic planning sessions with internal clients to determine the scope and objectives of each project and anticipates project hurdles as well as alternative solutions.

  • Projects will range from clearly/well defined scope and impact to open-ended/requiring significant definition. Design and manage SharePoint sites and processes.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Education: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of previous business process project management and/or relevant consulting experience

  • Experience in creation of project business cases

  • Experience managing projects through shared resources, creating and reporting project performance metrics. Experience in driving large scale change efforts (portfolio management)

  • Experience with team facilitation of cross-functional processes and teams, organizational design and change leadership. Exceptional communication, interpersonal and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certified

  • Experience in rolling out and managing control plans and mechanisms, successful execution from definition through roll-out of both large scale and small projects

  • Experience in banking, financial services, marketing, and/or software industries

  • Commercial Banking knowledge / experience

  • Six Sigma certified

Travel Required : up to 25% on average domestic travel.
