Position Description

What does a great Product Manager – Investment Services do?

As a Product Manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, crafting the future of our Investment Services suite of products. You are actively involved in product planning and design throughout the product lifecycle, defining market requirements and packaging the features into product releases. This means assessing, researching and evaluating market needs to figure out feasibility of new solutions and enhancements to existing products. You will collaborate and interact with development leads, solution architects, key customers, and cross functional teams across product management, technology, sales and support services.

As a Product Manager – Investment Services, you can look forward to:

You define market requirements and package features into product releases based on interaction with development leads, solution architects, and key customers. As product owner, you will manage Agile product backlogs, and plan road map release cycles. You lead creatively to solve market problems by harnessing the organization’s competencies and an understanding of technical concepts. Activities include defining problem statements from clients, prospects and the target markets and developing business and functional requirements to solve those problems. You will maintain agile product backlogs, and lead the product lifecycle from road map planning through development, deployment and ongoing support. You are a great teammate who understands other teams’ goals, seeks their input and incorporates their expertise into analysis and requirements to build consensus and gain commitment.

  • Articulate and prioritize user profiles and target markets for Fiserv products and services

  • Develop problem statements and business requirements that define key phases and deliverables for the product

  • Liaison across product groups, clients and Fiserv cross-functional teams

  • Assess new and existing technology to identify ways they can be used to deliver solutions

  • Lead and support internal and external readiness activities for product releases

  • Support go-to market activities by collaborating with product strategy, product marketing and sales

  • Drive optimization, normalization and code improvement ideas within the product development team

  • Perform product demonstrations and training for internal and external audiences

  • Address customer questions that cannot be answered by sales or support teams using existing documentation

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of competitive products and provide S.W.O.T analysis for internal use

  • Communicate effectively (oral and written) both internally and externally

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (technical field preferred) or equivalent experience in Investment Services.

Job Related Experience:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience Product Management, Business Analysis or Product Consulting

  • Experience in securities industry, investment services or portfolio management systems.

  • Experience with Managed Account trading tools and the entire account lifecycle

  • Experience with data communications across the Managed Account ecosystems and how they interrelate

  • Experience with Agile software development and new technologies

  • Demonstrated ability to perform independently through complex issues leading to thoughtful recommendations

  • Analysis and trouble-shooting to deliver against technical requirements from the clients

  • Ability to analyze complex business and technical concepts and make good decisions when faced with trade-offs

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain tight deadlines

  • Strong results orientation with a demonstrated track record of success

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:

  • Negotiation tactics, persuasion skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

TRAVEL REQUIRED:

  • Up to 15% travel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • Current or prior financial industry registrations such as Series 7 or CFP a plus but not required

  • Knowledge of Security APL, SQL and CQL is a plus
